Monthly Favourites || March 2014

Hey Guys!

So apologies for not posting yesterday, I had to finish all of my art coursework, but one day late isn't the end of the world! So I thought I'd share my monthly favourites for March with you today, and I've been loving brighter shades, and it's definitely feeling warmer and more spring-like!

So the first thing I'm going to talk about isn't a beaut product, but is something that I think is essential all seasons, and that is candles! Burning various scented candles can really change your mood, and I've been absolutely loving fresh scents this month.

I've particularly been loving my Yankee Candles in the scents Lemon Lavender and Sweet Apple. Their scents are quite obvious from the names, but I have been loving these because they are so fresh and clean smelling, perfect for spring.

Next I think is quite an obvious one as I've raved about them not long ago in my most recent Avon Haul, and that's the Avon Gel Finish Nail Enamels.

I've been especially loving the more brighter shades, Limoncello, Orange Crush and Candy Apple. I won't ramble too much about these nail varnishes, but all you need to know is that they're such good quality for the price, and you need to try them out!

Next is my Mac Eyeshadow in the shade Satin Taupe which is a Frost formula.

The reason that I've included this is that I have actually been using it all of the time. It's such a great neutral brown/taupe shade that I've been using for really simple eye looks, just adding a bit to the crease or outer-v to create a bit of depth, but I think it's great for everyday looks.

Next is my e.l.f. Blush in the shade Peachy Keen

I've also been using this on a regular basis, as I feel that it gives a really nice neutral colour, which goes with practically every eye or lip look. This formula doesn't have the best staying power, however it has really good pigmentation, and for something like £4, you can't really complain.

Next is my Real Techniques Buffing Brush, which I've been loving as a foundation brush.

I tried it to apply my foundation a couple of weeks ago, and have used i everyday since. It applies the foundation so well and evenly, and buffs it into the skin really smoothly. It is a great brush for lots of thing really, especially powder products, and before I used it for setting powder, but at the moment, I've used it so much for foundation.

Lastly is the Model Co Lipgloss in the shade Berry Pink.

I really love this lipgloss, as it has a really nice flavour/scent, and even though it can be quite sticky when you first apply it, it lasts really well, and for only £2 with Glamour magazine, I couldn't really resist getting them.

So yeah these are my monthly favourites for March, hope you enjoyed it! :)

February Favourites 2014

Hey Guys!

So a few things in my favourites this month are items that I've shown in hauls or reviewed in previous posts, so I'll also link those too!

So the first I'll do the beauty products. This first product I have reviewed (here) and it's the Sleek Face Form Contouring And Blush Palette in the shade Fair 372.

Since reviewing this product, I've been using all three shades everyday. It is basically a matte, bronzing/contouring shade, a shimmery, cream highlighter, and a pink blush with a gold shimmer. All three of these are so great, especially when they are used together, and as I've said in my review, it really has been my go-to face palette.

Next is the Avon Nailwear Pro+ Opal Top Coat, which made an appearance in one of my recent 'Avon's Arrived' posts (here).

I really love this nail varnish at the minute because it looks good on so many base colours. When you apply it over a colour, it dries to a matte finish but with really fine shimmer, hence the 'opal' name, since I guess it makes it sort of pearly. But yeah it dries really quickly and is so easy to wear.

Next is a product that I've definitely raved about over winter (here), and I still feel that I can just about get away with darker lipstick shades.

It's the Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick in the shade 125 Crazy Sexy Crimson. This is basically my perfect, deep red winter lipstick shade, and I've been wearing it loads, so obviously I had to put it in the monthly favourites. All of the Body Shop Colour Crush lipstick range are so good. They have good lasting power and are very moisturising, and also are quite balmy which makes them perfect for the colder days!

Last for beauty is the e.l.f. Maximum Coverage Concealer in the shade D34 Porcelain.

I showed this in my most recent e.l.f. Haul (here) and I've literally used it everyday. It is a very high coverage concealer, perfect for blemishes and dark circles, and I find it covers all imperfections on my skin so well. It does tend to crease after maybe like 5-6 hours, but that is expected really for more of a high coverage concealer. But yeah this is a really good concealer, and it's so cheap so you can't really go wrong.

Next is a fragrance that is my absolute favourite perfume! It is the Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb perfume.

It is a very strong, slightly floral-musky scent, which I love to wear in the evenings, and I've been wearing it a lot for family get-togethers and nights out. It is definitely not (for me personally) a day time fragrance, but it is so nice to wear at night, and it's really strong and even after a few hours, you can still smell it really well.

Lastly is Company Magazine.

I've had a Company subscription for maybe two years now, and I just think it's the best fashion and beauty magazine. This month's feature was with Zoella, and they always have good content and interviews (no gossip columns which I don't tend to read very often), and I just thought I'd put this in because I realised that I was actually looking forward for it to drop through my letterbox!

So yeah, these are my February 2014 Favourites!
Have you tried any of these products?

January Favourites 2014!

Hey Guys!

So it's been a long time since I've done a favourites post, so these are a few things over January and the Christmas period.

As you can see there are four beauty products, one music-related item, and my cat sleeping! So lets begin!

First is my MAC Eye shadow in the shade Jest which is a Frost shade.

I have already put this in my Christmas Presents Post, and it had to make an appearance here, because I've basically been wearing it everyday since! It is a really pretty light pink/taupe shimmery shade, perfect for all over the lid. I use it with a neutral brown or matte brown through the crease, and it just makes a really nice look for everyday, or even night time if you were to add a more dramatic, smokey eye. Obviously it is from an extremely good brand, and therefore lasts really well and applies really smoothly, and overall I just really love this product, and will definitely be buying more mac eye shadows!

Next is my Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24HR and I just have the shade 01 Black.

This is a really good quality gel eyeliner, and as you can see from the photo, I use it most days. I wouldn't necessarily agree that it lasts for 24 hours, but it definitely has some staying power. I have eyelids that rub onto the top of my lids, so I usually expect some rubbing throughout the day, but I just find that this is the best product I've tried so far. It's so easy to apply, and I use a thin angled brush to prevent getting really thick lines (even though some mornings I literally can't concentrate), but it gives a really intense black line and is just generally a really good quality product.

Next is a brush that I've been loving which is the No.7 Eye Shadow & Contour Brush.

I guess that this brush us a dupe for the MAC 217 Blending brush because it's a very similar medium-sized, fluffy brush. It's perfect for blending into the crease and generally blending out eye shadow, and I've just really liked using it because it is also really soft, and so doesn't take much effort to create a seamless look. So yeah huge thumbs up for this product!

Next is a product which was also in my Christmas Presents post, and that is the Body Shop Born Lippy Pomegranate Lip Balm.

This is by far my favourite flavour lip balm from The Body Shop, and the reason I tend to use these is because they actually work! Some lip balms or salves that I get don't moisturise my lips at all, and can even make them drier, and I just find that these lip balms are really nourishing and smoothing. I apply a layer at night before I go to bed, and I can still feel it working when I wake up in the morning. So yeah, if you're looking for a really decent lip balm definitely get this one, and there is loads of different flavours to chose from, so there is definitely one for everyone!

Lastly isn't beauty related, but I thought that I'd have to put it in because I've literally had it on repeat since Christmas Day. It's James Arthur (CD) by James Arthur.

Obviously he has made this album as a result of winner the X-Factor last year, and I just really love his music. The songs that I have been loving in particular are 'Suicide' and 'Roses'. All of the songs generally under the title of 'Pop music', but I would say that some of the songs don't fit into that since they are really unique, and I find that I can listen to it all of the time; when I'm getting ready, when I'm on the bus and when I'm working. So yeah been loving this CD, and is definitely a great CD to actually own on hard copy!

Recent Avon Purchases || Review

Hey guys! So it's nearly Christmas and I'm super excited! I've recently bought a few Avon products, and thought I'd review and share them with you, because they are all great for a Christmas look!

First is the Avon True Colour Eyeshadow Quad in the colour Stone Taupes. Well first of all the packaging of this product is so nice and elegant, and the best feature, in my opinion, is the numbering system. Each of the four shades has a number, and this relates to whereabouts you put it on the eyelid. This palette is a taupey/brown selection, which are perfect for everyday looks - because they aren't just plain nudes - but also can be worn more heavily for a more smokey look. Overall I really lie this product as I makes creating eyeshadow looks really easy, and the colours suit dark features really well.

Then is the Avon Kohl Eyeliner in True Black. I really like this product because it's easy to use when I don't have time (or wake up early enough) to do gel eyeliner. One end is a matte black eyeliner pencil, and the other is a smudger. Together they make a really nice needy eyeliner, which is really effortless.

Last is the Avon Irresistibly Sexy Sultry Lip Pencil in the shade Red Vixen. This is basically a really deep burgundy-red lip stick. It comes as a thick pencil so is really easy to apply and has quite a matte finish, which I really like. I've also found that it has really good staying power, and doesn't smudge at all, and easily lasts all day. I literally love this product and have been wearing it all the time!

So yeah they are my recent Avon purchases and favourite products at the minute. Hope you enjoyed reading!

Holiday Essentials || July Favourites

So I recently got back from the beautiful Paphos in Cyprus where I had the most amazing holiday ever! Ah it was so beautiful. But whilst I was away I thought of doing a mix between a sort of 'Holiday Must-Haves' and a July Faves because I haven't posted in SO long!

So these are the products which I have been absolutely loving whilst on holiday/in July!

First we have the Superdrug Solait Maxi Bronzer in Golden Glow.

It's basically a huge bronzing powder which I use to contour. I was initially drawn to this bronzer as it is matte and has no shimmer which is what I wanted, to get a more natural look. But I love this product because it works well, stays on for a long time, and because it is a Superdrug own brand, it's really cheap!

Next we have Batiste Dry Shampoo in the scent Tropical.

I've been using Batiste dry shampoo for ages and thought I would try the tropical scent for holiday, and whilst it isn't my favourite smell (it's very coconutty), I'd still highly recommend dry shampoo to anyone as its so easy to use and has such great effects.

Next is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer.
I decided to get this concealer after much hype from the beauty YouTubers and I'm so glad I did! It's so creamy and doesn't crease during the day, and also gives such great coverage and is definitely going to be a must have product from now on.

Then we have the Avon Nailwear Pro+ nail varnish in the shade Coral Reef.

I wore this colour everyday whilst on holiday purely because its such a great, bright, summery colour. Even though it didn't necessarily last for ages, the colour certainly makes up for any negatives. It is just a nearly neon coral which is just perfect for summer!

Next is the Loreal Studio Matt & Messy Salt Spray.

This is such a good pick me up during the day when your hair is looking a bit limp. It says to use it on damp hair but using it on dry hair also gives a nice tousled look.

Lastly isn't a beauty favourite, but an author that I read non-stop by the pool, and that is Dan Brown.

He wrote the book which was turned into the film 'The Davinci Code', and he basically writes sci-fi, mystery, thriller novels. I think the reason that I like these books so much is that something happens on one page, and then there's a twist on the next, and you just can't put them down. They aren't what I'd call a 'light' read, but they are te sort of book that you really get into and start to wonder if it could happen in real life. So yeah loving these books at the moment!

Thank you for reading, even though its been a bit of a mosh mash post between Holiday and July Faves, I promise to start posting more regularly from now on!

June Favourites 2013!

Hey guys, so this is my June Favourites, summer is coming so fast, and so all of my favourites have a place in your summer handbag!
Ok so my first June Favourite is the Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion.
I'm loving this at the moment because when I come to use it before I go to bed, it feels so nice and cold on my face even though its just been sitting on my shelf the whole day. I use it to remove my makeup (after using eye makeup remover) and it just is so nice and moisturising as well as doing a good job.

Then I chose the Sleek oh so special Eyeshadow Palette.
I originally got this because I was planning to use the gold and coral colours for my prom, but after trying it out a few times, I am absolutely in love with it! These colours are just beautiful. There are some pale pinks, nudes and browns but also some sparkly shades and then towards the end a few darker and matte colours. My favourite combo at the moment is having Ribbon all over the lid with Wrapped Up blended into the crease creating a shadow, with Bow on the inner corners as a highlight. This is such a good look for a summer evening and the eyeshadow are so soft and blend so nicely. Massive thumbs up for this palette!

Ok so next is my favourite lip duo which is the Rimmel Apocalips in 500 Luna with the Avon Colortrend Lipstick in Doll Pink.
Now these two shades on their own are very bright. The Apocalips is a muted orange colour and the Avon one is very bright fushcia pink - very similar to Mac Candy Yum Yum. However I love these colours when blended together because they make the best coral-pink colour which is perfect for summer, and this combination lasts so long whilst still feeling soft.

Then we have the Avon Angled Blusher Brush.
This brush is amazingly perfect for contouring and blush because the angle allows you to have the perfect sweep of your cheeks, and because of the quite thick density of the bristles, it means you pick up enough on the brush to use without wasting as much. I love this brush and will be taking it with me everywhere from now on in case of touch up emergencies!

Lastly we have the Limited Edition Barry M Nail Paint in the colour A(?!)
I'm not sure of the exact colour name because it only says A but basically if you go into a boots/superdrug shop then there's an offer which you get this free if you spend a certain amount of money. So I didn't actually intentionally buy this nail varnish, I got if for free, but I'm very glad I did! It's a slightly muted neon pink colour which I think is perfect for holidays or festivals as its very bright but not too extreme. I'd definitely recommend getting this for your summer.

Ok so I hope you liked my June Favourites so like and follow for more beauty posts!

May Favourites 2013!

Woo this is my first favourites post!! Exciting stuff!
Ok so these are all the things that I've been loving during the end of spring/start of summer period.

First is the Soap and Glory: The Righteous Butter and this is basically a thick body butter.
So I've been loving this because now it's beginning to be more summery you want to keep your legs nice and soft to prevent then from drying up in the sun, and I think that this body butter is just so moisturising and also smells really good!

Next is Avon Planet Spa Chinese Ginseng Revitalising Eye Pads.
So I love these because now the pollen is coming out, I can often wake up with puffy eyes from hayfever and these are just brilliant for that! You just get two pads and put them over your eyes for like 5 minutes and then after your eyes feel so awake an soft and yeah these are just really nice!

Next is the Real Techniques Foundation Brush.
As you can see from the picture it is an angled buffer brush but is just so nice for applying foundation because it gives a really even coat and the brush is just so soft ah I love it!

Then we have Sinful Colors Professional Nail Polish in the colour Thimbleberry.
Now you guys know how much I love nail varnishes and at the minute this is my favourite. It's a pinky-coral colour so it's perfect for summer and also I think it makes your hand look really tanned! Another thing is that it stays on for quite a while but for something like £1.99 you can't really go wrong!

Lastly is my Avon Colortrend Lip Balm in Juicy Raspberry.
Now I absolutely love this and take it everywhere with me at the minute because it makes your lips so soft but also it tastes and smells SO good! It actually smells of raspberries and just tastes amazing!

So yeah I hope you enjoyed my first ever monthly favourites post, and comment below and follow for more!

Avon Favourites

Ok, so I am an 'Avon 'Representative' which basically means I sell products from the Avon range which varies from makeup to hair products to jewellery. I love doing Avon because, even though I may not make much money, I get to try things out before they are sold to everyone else! Anyways, in this post I thought I'd share with you some of my favourite products from Avon.

First would have to be the Infinitize Mascara in Black and I've shown this before in my daily makeup routine because I do use it everyday because its so amazing!
It has four different sized bristles so that when you apply it to your lashes, they are all an even length. It's also really good because its really lengthening and spreads out you lashes so they are not clumpy at all, so yeah I would totally recommend this mascara!

Next is my ColourTrend Lasting Smile Lip Paint, and I have the colours Melondrama and Pink Envy. The only thing I can think these are similar to are the Revlon Lip Butters because these lipsticks are so soft like a lip balm but also have quick a rich pigmentation so that they provide a nice colour too.
What i like about these so much is that they are so moisturising and make your lips so soft whilst also having a nice, shimmery colour to them. They aren't as thick as normal lipsticks so are perfect for summer and just reapplying throughout the day to prevent your lips getting dry.

My next favourite product is the Nail Experts Gel Strength Base Coat. Now this is amazing stuff because it acts as a base coat but also is a strengthener.
It has a light orange tint to it as oppose to it being a clear polish and this means that it is basically the same colour as your bare nail so gives a really good base. I also think that it helps to stop my nail varnish chipping for a few extra days, so what's not to like eh!

My final favourite products are the Avon Colour Style Lipsticks. These are AMAZING! They are basically mini lipsticks that are designed to be smaller so that you can easily carry them in a bag or something.
I have the colours Mirage and Pink Kiss, and I usually wear them to school because these are quite nude colours. I love these because they are so tiny and cute but also are really good lipsticks! They are really creamy and soft and feel so nice on the lip and the fact that they come in so many different colours is so good!

So yeah, these are my favourite products from Avon and if you want to buy anything then either email me or go to www.avon.co.uk to find your nearest representative!
