How To: Stay Sane During Revision || Pamper Evening For One

Hey Guys!

If you're a student, the Easter Holidays doesn't just mean eating chocolate and watching films (although I try my hardest to only do that). Any form of time off as Exam season approaches equals revision, and with revision comes the need to relax, so I thought I'd share with you what I like to do maybe once or twice during the holidays just to relax and have a pamper, girly night in.

So first thing's first, take off all of the day's makeup, cleanse and tone, and get into your comfiest pyjamas, and maybe a pair of fluffy socks if you want to go all out!

I then start with my nails, and I just use a nail file and clippers (the ones shown above are just from Avon), and I just file and shape my nails, sometimes adding nail varnish or nourishment varnishes with cuticle cream, but just generally taking care to look after your nails.

Then I apply my favourite Lip Balm and this is The Body Shop Born Lippy Lip Balm in the flavour Pomegranate, but any lip balm will do, just to moisturise the lips whilst you pamper yourself.

Also use some moisturising face creams, for example recently I've been loving my little sample of Benefit's It's Potent Eye Cream, as it smells really fresh. Using face moisturiser and maybe body butter is also really nice, especially as summer is coming up up you want really soft, smooth skin.

Then for maybe one of the most important parts of any pamper night or relaxing session is to have a face mask. Here I've got the Superdrug De-Stressing Mud Mask and the Superdrug Detoxifying Dead Sea Mineral Mask, and just apply that and maybe do your nails or something while you wait for it to dry. This is probably the step where you actually relax the most as you have to actually stop and just let the face mask do it's thing.

And lastly, go on a cupboard hunt for chocolate, choose a girly film, light some candles, and cosy up in bed! I've got my Yankee Candle in the scent Beach Flowers, and just a regular tea light. At the moment I've been working my way through the 'Teen Spirit' list of films on the Sky Movies website, but any good, girly or soppy love film will do. And hopefully with all of these you can take an evening to relax and forget about revision for a few hours!

Avon's Arrived || Brochure 07

Hey Guys!

Sorry for the lack of posts last week, I've just been really busy, but I'll be back to posting every Wednesday and Sunday now. So it's the first day of the Easter holidays, and hopefully with a bit of extra time on my hands, I can do a few bigger posts, but this morning the Avon delivery arrived, therefore today we have an Avon's Arrived post!
At the minute Avon are bringing out really exciting products with every brochure, and this one was the same.

First thing I got is the Avon Care Rich Moisture Cream.

This is basically a really thick, fresh smelling moisture cream, that you can use on the face and body. I got this to replace an old bottle of face cream that's nearly run out, and I'm really looking forward to trying this out. I think it will make a really good night time moisturiser, and because of the thickness, will be great for days when I have quite dry skin.

Next is the new Aero Volume Mascara in the shade Black.

This is one of their brand new products, and I generally really like Avon mascaras, so thought this would be a good product to try. The wand is 'star shaped', so it has like five sections of bristles, and when you look at it from the end, it sort of looks like a star. This is for getting lots of volume into the lashes, and the wand is the perfect size for me. This mascara looks really promising, and I'll do a review of it to let you guys know more details like staying power and what not!

Next is another new product which I have talked about like three times already, and I am just obsessed, so had to pick up another shade. It's the Gel Finish Nail Enamel in the shade Dazzle Pink.

So when I recently got a load of these new nail varnishes, I just chose colours that I thought looked really pretty in the brochure, but when I've come to use them, I noticed I didn't really get any spring shades, so I decided to get Dazzle Pink. It is a gorgeous salmon pink colour with a very fine iridescent shimmer through it. I've talked about the consistency and quality of these nail varnishes before, but I really like this colour for spring, and maybe even summer.

Next is the Kabuki Brush, which is actually smaller than I expected, but is still a really good size.

So I've recently started using my Real Techniques Buffing Brush for foundation instead of setting powder, and my previous Kabuki Brush from 17 was getting a bit old, so thought I'd try this out. It's a really nice dense brush with soft bristles, and this may sound weird, but it doesn't poof out too much, like the bristles are nicely compacted, which makes it easier to apply powder. So yeah, really looking forward to this brush, and I'm certain that I'll like it.

Lastly is a product that I was super excited to hear about, and that is the Avon Matte Lipstick, and I got the shade Matte Peach.

Lots of places are starting to bring out matte lip products, and the matte lip trend is becoming quite popular, and I must say that I love matte products, as I'm not too keen on glitter everything. This lipstick is a great quality matte lipstick, and thankfully it's not too drying. Matte Peach is (surprise, surprise) and peachy-pink shade, very similar to the nail varnish above. It doesn't dry fully matte, but I quite like that as it means it doesn't completely dry out the lips. So yeah this product is so good, and I'll definitely be trying out some more shades!

So I hoped you enjoyed reading this, and like the look of some of these Avon products.
